Gold rush-Finland

In the 1870’s in Lapland, Finland a gold rush started at the Ivalojoki River. It only lasted a few years. At its height only about 600 people were in the area as it was a perilous journey and monitored by government officials. The government fees and taxes were high. The gold started running out by 1873.
